Chris Dyson - Leadership

As we get prepared to welcome the wonderful Kids against Plastics into our schools after Easter, I wanted to talk about the importance of Leadership in our wonderful school, Leadership focussed on the children.

Leadership is an important quality that can be developed from a young age. Primary school is a great place to start building these skills, as children are beginning to learn how to work in groups and take on responsibilities. With the start of spring comes new beginnings, and it's a perfect time for students to develop their leadership skills.

One of the most important aspects of leadership is being able to communicate effectively. Our Create pupils can practice this skill by working in groups and presenting their ideas to their peers. Encouraging our pupils to listen actively to one another and provide constructive feedback can help them learn how to communicate in a positive and respectful manner.

Another important aspect of leadership is being able to set goals and work towards achieving them. Spring is a great time to set new goals for the remainder of the school year. Encouraging our pupils to set achievable goals and develop action plans to achieve them can help them build their leadership skills and develop a sense of accomplishment.

Leadership also involves taking initiative and being proactive. Pupils can practice this skill by volunteering to lead a class project or suggesting new ideas for classroom activities. Encouraging our pupils to take on new challenges and responsibilities can help them develop their confidence and leadership skills.

Finally, leadership is about being a positive role model for others. Pupils can practice this skill by demonstrating kindness, respect, and responsibility in their daily interactions with their peers and teachers. Encouraging students to be positive role models can help them develop their leadership skills and make a positive impact on their school community.

Here at Create we can develop the pupils leadership skills by practicing effective communication, setting and achieving goals, taking initiative, and being positive role models for others. Spring is a great time for students to start developing these skills and make a positive impact on their school community.
