Conway Primary School

Conway is one of the founding schools of Create Partnership Trust and was judged good by Ofsted in 2012. This judgement was further supported in its Section 8 inspection of 2019.

Its partnership with Greet began in 2009 when Conway was in special measures and the two schools formed a Federation with an Executive Headteacher and a Federation Governing Body. Conway has continued to improve over the years and is noted particularly for its positive ethos and the emphasis it has placed on curriculum and pedagogy. The formation of Create Partnership Trust in 2016 enabled Conway to move further forward by appointing its own Headteacher, whilst remaining part of the family of schools.

Conway Primary School is a school moving forward. The staff, children, and the community have worked hard to build a school they can be proud of. There has been a great emphasis on the development of curriculum and pedagogical understanding at Conway which has, in turn, influenced other schools in the Trust.

The Trust welcomes Rebecca Eaton as Headteacher at Conway from September 2021. Rebecca joins us with several years’ experience of headship and significant raising of educational standards.

“I believe that a school should be a central hub of the community.  As educators we play a pivotal role in a child’s development, but we cannot do this alone.  For me, it is a privilege to be in this role and to be part of making a difference to so many lives to secure a better future.

I came to Conway in September 2021 having been a head at a local school that is part of a large MAT for five years.  Whilst there I was responsible for raising standards and the school was in the top 2% of the country for progress in KS2 SATs.  I am passionate about working in areas that are statistically disadvantaged so that I can work as part of a team to improve the life chances for those children as well as their families.

Since arriving at Conway, we have written the vision and values that we believe in as a team to give every child a clear path to a successful future.  Conway is a school where every child flourishes – this may be academically, socially, through the arts or by developing any talent the child may have.  We do this through our values of ambition, resilience and respect – these are values that all stakeholders are expected to model.  Our priorities are that every child leaves us as a fluent reader, a confident communicator and knowing and remembering more about the world.”
